The Old City Townhouses

At SCOPE Engineering Consultants, we designed this proposal to capture the authentic spirit of an “Old City” streetscape while meeting the lifestyle expectations of Dubai – Mirdif.
Our vision was to create a façade that feels organic and timeless—like a district that grew naturally over time—yet is delivered with modern construction quality and functionality.

The elevation is composed as a unified row of residences where each segment has its own character, achieved through carefully varied massing, stepped rooflines, and layered architectural depth. We selected a palette of natural-looking stone, textured plaster finishes, and warm brick accents to bring richness, authenticity, and a crafted heritage feel. Arched openings play a key role throughout the design, reinforcing traditional architectural identity while creating strong shadow lines and visual rhythm. To enhance the old-town character, we integrated classic window proportions, wooden shutter details, and rooftop terraces with simple parapets, adding charm and a distinctive skyline.

From a practical standpoint, the design remains fully suited to Mirdif’s residential needs, with clear entrances, integrated covered parking, and recessed ground-floor zones—all blended into the architectural language without compromising the heritage-inspired concept. Finally, the warm wall lantern lighting is intentionally placed to highlight textures and materials at night, giving the project a welcoming, premium atmosphere.

The result is a heritage-inspired residential frontage that feels like an Old City street—elegant, detailed, and uniquely memorable—crafted with SCOPE’s signature balance of design identity and real-world functionality.
